WEFT 90.1 FM is a community radio station established in 1981 serving a diverse community of listeners in East Central Illinois and many listeners worldwide via our live stream at weft.org/listen and on-demand listening via Radio Free America.

  • S'Ruti (Music of India) Alternating Hosts: Rajib, Sanjiv, Sreenivas Every edition focuses on the classical music of India (primarily Hindustani and Karnatik) with a minor emphasis on the light classical and film music.

  • Womyn Making Waves Hosted By: Kitten T and Gina Independent music, news, poetry, and performance Started in 1981, Womyn Making Waves is one of the oldest programs on WEFT. The show hosted by a collective; an ever-growing group of women dedicated to bringing independent music, news, poetry, and performance to women in east central Illinois. The show features live interviews and performances with local women as well as women from around the world. All genres of music are played and each member of the collective contributes her unique perspective and taste in music. The work of activists and music by lesbians is a regular part of most programs.

  • Alternative Radio About AR Alternative Radio, established in 1986, is a weekly one-hour public affairs program offered free to all public radio stations in the US, Canada, Europe and beyond. AR provides information, analyses and views that are frequently ignored or distorted in other media. Our program is carried by over 175 radio stations and heard by millions of listeners. Our headquarters are located in Boulder, Colorado. AR consists of David, Joe and Gavin and a few volunteers working in a 400 sq ft office in Boulder where we do all our production and order fulfillment. David, in addition to his other duties, sends out the mail himself and he always tries to include a personal thank you. Hosted by David Barsamian
