Roots, Jazz, and American Music (RJAM) is a first-of-its-kind program that links the world-class San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM), to the award-winning San Francisco Jazz Center (SFJAZZ) and its resident all-star ensemble (THE SFJAZZ Collective).
The program title Side-by-Side nicely captures the story of a terrific happening right here in San Francisco’s music hub…where you’ll find the SFJAZZ Collective collaborating with the San Francisco Conservatory of Music’s RJAM students performing LIVE on KCSM-FM….bringing to the forefront young musicians, working with established talent, gaining national exposure! This live performance is a public sharing of our combined commitment to jazz and to the next generation of jazz artists.
For the November 30th concert, RJAM faculty members Carmen Bradford, Chad Lefkowitz-Brown, Matt Wilson, Mario Guarneri, Carlos Caro and SFJAZZ Collective members Warren Wolf, David Sanchez and Edward Simon will be performing alongside RJAM freshmen and sophomore students.
