"Polka Don" Sidlowski

DJ at WXPR Radio 91.7 FM in Three Lakes, Wisconsin

Don Sidlowski is a native of the Chicago Suburbs (Orland Park) where he grew up in an ethnic Polish-Czech family. From his earliest childhood days, he was immersed in polka and waltz music in both styles and learned to sing many of these songs in Czech as a child. Growing up, opportunities to hear live polka music were as simple as heading to any Chicago Forest Preserve grove on a Sunday afternoon. Today, Don is a year-round resident in Three Lakes where he and his wife Judy tend to their horse, burro, five dogs and cat on their hobby "Oak Leaf Cluster Farm." Now retired from corporate America, Don serves as a government and civic strategist. A past elected official in the Town of Three Lakes, Don continues to advocate in Madison for broadband expansion and economic development in Northern Wisconsin, sits on many boards and advisory councils, and is responsible for the FabLab initiative in the State. In all of his “spare time” he’s also an avid organic vegetable gardener, Eagle Scout Chair for the Crystal Lake District of Samoset Council BSA, a hiker, biker and retired Masters cross-country skier. Don's love of polka and waltz music remains unabated with the passing of time and for the past four years it’s been his privilege to be one of the regular hosts of The Polka Show.
