WEFT 90.1 FM is a community radio station established in 1981 serving a diverse community of listeners in East Central Illinois and many listeners worldwide via our live stream at weft.org/listen and on-demand listening via Radio Free America.

National Native News airs from 2:00 – 2:05PM weekdays with news from the Native American community. Deutsche-Welle Radio News airs from 3:00 – 3:05PM with world headline news.

  • This Way Out "This Way Out" is the award-winning internationally distributed weekly LGBT radio program, currently airing on over 200 local community radio stations around the world. The half-hour "magazine"-style program is produced in Los Angeles. "This Way Out" leads off each week with "NewsWrap", a summary of some of the major news events in or affecting sexual minority communities, compiled from a variety of media outlets around the world. This Way Out" is also punctuated with a wide variety of music, especially self-produced recordings by openly lesbian/gay performers (which rarely receive commercial radio airplay).

  • Roots, Rock, Reggae - Alternating Hosts Straight from Ganja Mountain, this show seeks to connect the Cross-cultural Revolution with reggae music coming straight from Jamaica. Chef Ra started Roots, Rock, Reggae a song by Bob Marley and The Wailers (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMBlMMGxfpw) back in the days when WEFT broadcast on cable TV prior to hitting the airwaves on September 26, 1981. Ra single-handedly brought Reggae music to the cornfields and prairies of East Central Illinois, playing roots, rock steady, dance hall, dub, Bob and Rita Marley and The Wailers, Peter Tosh, Steel Pulse, Third World, The Gladiators, Lee Scratch Perry, and more.
