WEFT 90.1 FM is a community radio station established in 1981 serving a diverse community of listeners in East Central Illinois and many listeners worldwide via our live stream at weft.org/listen and on-demand listening via Radio Free America.

  • Higher Ground - Alternating Hosts: Eunice Buckner-Boone & Aaron Ammons Alternating hosts; Eunice Buckner-Boone and Aaron Ammons. Higher Ground is a public affairs show that features alternating hosts Eunice Buckner-Boone on the 1st & 3rd Saturdays, and Aaron & Carol Ammons on 2nd & 4th Saturdays. Higher Ground focuses on local affairs and on personal improvement that leads to community development. This public affairs show discusses issues that primarily affect the African-American community, however, the larger social fabric of America is also strategically interwoven into the dialogue. HigherGround acknowledges and encourages the compassionate /passionate spirit within each of us. This spirit connects, supports and raises our collective consciousness towards the honoring of every member of community through sincere welcoming of their whole hearted participation in it.

  • News From Neptune News from Neptune is an hour of discussion of the news of the week and its coverage by the media, hosted by Paul Mueth. The show is named in honor of Noam Chomsky, who said, “Either you repeat the same conventional doctrines everybody is saying, or else you say something true, and it will sound like it’s from Neptune.”

  • Weekend Heartbeat - Alternating Hosts: Public Affairs Collective Enjoy four different programs throughout the month. 1st Saturday of the month, "Peace Talks Radio" hosted by Joy George addresses personal conflict we face everyday and ways we may effectively deal with these challenges. 2nd Saturday “The New Lamp” with Marilyn Rickey brings an informative light to the Baha'i faith and its philosophy. 3rd Saturday “DW Inside Europe” hosted by Michael Hill. . 4th Saturday "Radio Ecoshock" a syndicated program hosted by Alex Smith - Latest science, authors, issues - from climate change, oceans, forests, pollution, Peak Oil, the economy, and peace.
