Simosin

DJ at KAOS Radio 89.3 FM in Olympia, Washington

In the spring of 2015, after an almost 12 yr hiatus, Simosin made his grand return to the radio airwaves with the premiere of Against the Grain on April 3rd, in the wee hours of the KAOS Thursday overnight line up. Prior to this, he was a late night DJ, hosting a free form, music variety show called Insomnia Heaven, at "The Little Basement That Rocks", 88.1 FM, KVSC, in St. Cloud, MN from 1999-2003. But, the origins of the persona of Simosin as a wacky, off the cuff, all over the place personality; who loves nothing more than striving to entertain and enlighten an audience at large, harkens back to 1993, and a little cable access show called: Rock' N Da Town. From the summer of '93 until the show's untimely demise in 1997 (cancelled by the broadcaster, Channel 7 in Howard Lake, MN, looking to change programming away from a teenage and young adult type fare to a more government affairs and current events/news format), Simosin and co-host Kyman, spent every Friday night at around midnight parodying cheesy horror movies, concocting SNL type shorts, reviewing their favorite music of that time period, and interviewing made up guests. Despite all the aforementioned randomness and hijinks smattered among various shows, Simosin, has been fortunate enough to have been a part of; he is proudest of most recently being given the opportunity to count himself among such a stellar, delightful, and eclectic cast of characters and wickedly original personalities you can find only on KAOS Radio, 89.3 FM, Olympia.
